We are searching for a full-time senior accountant to join our Client Accounting & Advisory team and assist in servicing one of our government clients in the Northern suburbs of Chicago area this role will be based 100% on site at the client location.

Lauterbach & Amen is committed to offering compensation that is fair, transparent, and competitive. The anticipated, average salary range for this position is $80,000-$100,000, with the final offer determined based on business-related factors such as geographic location, relevant experience, education, skill set, and professional certifications. As part of our compensation philosophy, offers are typically not made at the top of the range to allow room for future growth and salary progression over time
Essential job duties:
- Perform month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheets, and ensuring accuracy.
- Accounts payable/receivable
- Utility Billing
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Assist with preparing financial statements
- Prepare government-required reports
- Advise clients on internal accounting matters
- Assist with Audit preparation
- Complete appropriate compliance reporting
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- CPA or actively pursuing a license
- 3-10 years of general accounting experience required
- Government/Municipal accounting experience required
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize as needed
- Strong organizations skills and detail-oriented
- Highly motivated, self-starter
